/ Chelsea: Material Enchantment
As visiting lecturer at MA Graphic Communication Design at Chelsea College of Art, London, Wardynski led a three weeks module called ‘Material Enchantment’. Focusing one brief, the work was divided into three deliverables.
At first the students were asked to identify an object of enchantment, secondly, they had to transform the enchantment and thirdly they had to package and archive it. This proved to be an interesting exercise, especially with the many nationalities and the diverse backgrounds of the participating group.
The result was widely ranged, between poetry, moving image, sound, DIY-electronics, and food manufacturing. The recording of amulets, rituals, memories, and stories was performed and discussed in a speculative future, giving the objects a chance to usher mental engagements in a time yet to come.
